About LibriDocs.org
LibriDocs.org is an independent website about open documents and open educational resources (OER). It is written for teachers who want to replace expensive course materials, for students who want free and legal reading, and for anyone who produces documents and wants them to stay readable, shareable and reusable.
Independent site – not affiliated with or endorsed by LibreTexts, OpenStax, Creative Commons or any other organisation we write about.
Topics we cover
- Open licensing – what copyright protects, how the six Creative Commons licences differ and what “public domain” really means (read the licensing guide).
- Open textbooks and OER – why open textbooks matter, how instructors can find and evaluate them, and where online libraries are heading (open textbooks, OER for teachers, online libraries).
- Finding research legally – routes to free peer-reviewed articles such as repositories and author copies (guide).
- Document formats and workflows – open-source editors, templates, PDF best practice, LaTeX for academic writing and team knowledge bases (all guides).
- A citation generator for APA, MLA and Chicago that runs in your browser (open the tool).
What this site does not do
LibriDocs.org does not host textbooks, sell courses or offer accounts. When we mention a resource, we link to its original publisher so you always get the authoritative version and its licence terms.
How it is funded
The site is maintained independently and supported by advertising (Google AdSense). There is nothing to buy and no sign-up.
